honeymouse SG In a way, I'd rather pay high income tax here so when we get old, there are some welfare. In Singapore, there's nothing except your cpf. And is your cpf enough for you to retire?
stellazio SG well the same can be said for the UK. medicalis highly subsizided or sth, but you want treatment, gotta wait damn long. this is my uncle complaining to me. he works in the hospital.
honeymouse SG It can be like that in Australia too. Not enough hospital beds etc. That's why the government encourages people to take up private health insurance. We get a 30% rebate if we get private health insurance and we don't have to pay the medicare levy.
av98m SG I dunno, might not even live long enough to see the money, considering the rising minimum age and minimum sum for withdrawal
the Bear SG age you can withdraw CPF = time last nail is driven into coffin minimum sum in there = more than you got
av98m SG Actually, no matter how I do my sums, I can afford to retire in an ok manner as long as I dun raise kids
the Bear SG so.. the game console price war starts.. with a whimper.. blood Sony dropped its price of the PS3 in the US to US$500 for the 60GB model but the idiots confuse the public by offering the 80GB model + 1 game for US$600 they expect the XBox360 price to drop too in retaliation..
honeymouse SG I heard about that because someone from Sony resigned and is now run by someone else. The person believe Sony should drop the price for PS3. If this is true, I might consider getting a PS3 one day, as a home entertainment system. Oh well, when we decide to buy a LCD tv too. Long long time to go.... Recently, I read there are some technical issues with XBox360.... http://www.theage.com.au/news/games/microsoft-mum-on-xbox-360-issues/2007/07/09/1183833383961.html
